OUR HISTORY
The Nutridge Estate is located inside of the Pu’u Ualaka’a Wayside Park, the heart of Tantalus. In the Hawaiian language, the name if the state park refers to a crop that was once grown here. “Pu’u Ualaka’a” literally means “rolling sweet potato hill”.
Hosting breathtaking sunset views along the edge of the rainforest, the Nutridge Estate originally began as the home of Hawaii’s first macadamia nut plantation in the 1920s. Over the years, The Nutridge Estate has entertained many iconic guests, including Clark Gable, Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe. The King of Rock, Elvis Presley, also spent some of his free time here while filming “Blue Hawaii.”
Today, the Nutridge Estate is home to Oahu’s #1 luau — a hands-on, intimate, backyard style lu’au dedicated to sharing the Spirit of Aloha. We chose to go with this smaller luau and are so glad we did! There were 50 people or less and we learned so much about Hawaii. We also ate some delicious food. The staff was incredible and the views were spectacular! I can't say enough of how appreciative we are of this experience!

There are so many luaus to choose from, but we're very happy we chose this one. We were warmly welcomed, given a drink, and sat outdoors, where we were educated and entertained, which included dancers and the fire dancers. We roamed the property, drank, and played games. Dinner was wonderful! Beautiful location and excellent service.

This was our first Luau and we enjoyed the evening. Others couples with us had attended other luaus and they were also impressed. We had a lovely night together. Staff were very friendly - treated you like family. Food was tasty. The location has an amazing view, especially at sunset! We loved how the staff shared their stories, songs, and dance.

10 out of 10. Best Luau ever! The property is beautiful. Small, intimate setting. The production and staff are superb. Been to other Luaus and nothing compares. Food was delicious, drinks were fantastic. The staff took their time explaining their culture and answering questions. Highly recommend this venue. Our favorite experience of our trip. Thank you!
